Willy Vanderperre studied photography & fashion at the Royal Academy of Arts in Antwerp, where he was schooled alongside many leading names of Belgium fashion, including his peer Raf Simons. He still lives there although he spends more and more time in both Paris and New York, where he shot his August 2006 story with long-time collaborator and i-D’s Contributing Fashion Editor Olivier Rizzo. In fact the first art exhibition to feature Willy’s photographs was curated by Olivier and Peter de Potter. Willy is a regular contributor to i?D, the first magazine to publish his fashion imagery, and other prestigious titles including Pop, Arena Homme +, V, Another and Another Man.
