“Because everything’s in ruins.
「なぜならあらゆるものが荒廃したからだ。
Everything’s been degraded,
すべては堕落した。しかしこうも言える。
but I could say that they’ve ruined...
and degraded everything.
彼らが荒廃させ、そしてすべてを堕落させたのだと。
Because this is not some kind of cataclysm,
なぜならこれは、いわゆる無垢な者には救いを残すような、
brought about with so-called innocent human aid.
大洪水の類ではないからだ。
On the contrary...
まるでそうではない。
It’s about man’s own judgement,
これは人間自身の審判だ。
his own judgement over his own self,
人間が人間自身に下した審判なのだ。
which of course God has a hand in,
そこには神の姿もある。
or, dare I say it, takes part in.
いや、敢えて言うが、神は加担している。
And whatever he takes part in...
そして神が加担したからには、
is the most ghastly creation that you can imagine.
審判はなによりも恐ろしいものとなる。
Because, you see, the world has been debased.
わかるだろう、世界は堕とされたのだ。
So it doesn’t matter what I say,
もはや私が何を言おうとどうにもならん。
because everything has been debased that they’ve acquired.
奴らの手にしたもののすべてが堕とされた。
And, since they’ve acquired everything in a sneaky, underhand fight,
姑息な、暗がりの闘争により、奴らはすべてを手中にし、

そのすべてを貶める。
Because whatever they touch -
触れたものはひとつ残らず、そして

This is the way it was until the final victory. Until the triumphant end.

It’s been going on like this for centuries...

This, and only this, sometimes on the sly, sometimes rudely,
これが、これだけが、時には狡猾に、時には乱暴に、
sometimes gently, sometimes brutally,

but it has been going on and on.
しかし延々と続いてきた。
Yet, only in one way,
闘争はいつも一方的だった。

So that by now these winning champions, who attack from ambush, rule the Earth,
負けを知らぬ者たちは、もはや、この星を完全に支配し、
and there isn’t a single tiny nook
where one can hide something from them,
わたしらには奴らからなにかを隠しておく、
ほんの僅かな隙間すら残されていない。
because everything they can lay their hands on is theirs.
その手の触れるものすべては奴らの所有となるのだから。
Even things we think they can’t reach - but they do reach -
are also theirs.
奪われんと信じたものすら、犯され、
奪われてゆく。
Because the sky is already theirs, and all our dreams.
もうあの空も奴らのものだ。わたしらの夢も。
Theirs is the moment, nature,
時も、自然も、
infinite silence.
あの果てしない静寂も…。
Even immortality is theirs, you understand?
不滅までもが、奪われた。分かるか？

And those many noble,

同時に彼らは、善も悪も無いのだと悟った。
Then they saw and understood that...
そして、彼らは悟り、理解した。
if this was so, then they themselves do not exist either!
そうであるなら、彼ら自身もまた、存在しないのだと。
