昨日(米国時間３月３日）Cleveland Chiropractic College-Los AngelesのプレジデントであるCarl S. Cleveland III, DCから発表があり、今年の秋でCCCLAが廃校になることが決まったそうです。
経済上の理由で学校の運営が厳しくなったとのことですが、私も卒業生の一人として非常に残念でなりません。
このコミュニティーの中にもCCCLAの卒業生、もしくは実習などをCCCLAで行った方もいらっしゃるかと思いましたので、ご報告させて頂きました。
ちなみにKansas校の方には影響はないそうです。

In a press release today, Cleveland Chiropractic College system president, Dr. Carl Cleveland III, announced the decision of the Board of Trustees to cease operations at Cleveland Chiropractic College-Los Angeles in 2011.
Cleveland is in the process of finalizing a transition program with Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) that will address the current Los Angeles students’ ability to complete the DC degree at their scheduled time of graduation.
Cleveland-LA alumni are a cherished and integral part of the Cleveland family. As this campus closes, you become the embodiment of Cleveland-LA. It will not be a building or a program, but a network of graduates who continue changing lives through chiropractic. As a member of the Cleveland family you will continue to have access to alumni services (i.e. academic records, transcripts, etc) via the alumni page at www.cleveland.edu or by calling 913.234.0600.
The decision to close Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles has been difficult for the Board of Trustees; however, challenging economic conditions and a continuing downward enrollment trend impacting the California chiropractic colleges dictates that this consolidation is necessary. This change will have no effect on Cleveland Chiropractic College-Kansas City, which is a separate college that has maintained an affiliation with Cleveland-LA since 1951.
Cleveland-LA has a long, spirited history and has graduated thousands of well-trained, successful chiropractors who have gone on to provide care to countless patients. Over these many years, the faculty and staff have made an invaluable contribution to society, the profession, the community and countless families and individuals. We are forever grateful for our employees’ dedicated service to the mission of this institution. We extend our sincerest best wishes for the future to all who work and study here.
