Michael Levin is a self taught photographer who moved from Winnipeg, Canada to Vancouver, Canada in the fall of 2003. Coming from the homogeny of prairie landscapes, he was struck by the beauty and diversity of the Pacific Northwest, B.C. in particular. Michael was drawn to Vancouver's expansive shorelines where the seed was planted and thus began his ongoing series of Seascape photographs. These images are captured on film typically at dusk or dawn where light and form are distilled to their essential elements. Levin travels frequently scouting out new locales and will be photographing throughout Japan with his 8x10 Field camera this winter. Michael has representation in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. He most recently won a 1st place in the 2005 International Photography Awards Professional Fine Arts category and his work has appeared in numerous publications.
