---------------------------------------------------------------------------

KABUKI hails from the North of England. With inspiration from his friendship with famed illustrator Errol Le Cain, Kabuki was already an accomplished artist by his teens. He landed his first job in New York as a textile designer but it was his unique flair for outlandish dress and make-up that led him to the then-flourishing NYC club scene. This is turn led to modeling on European runways for Thierry Mugler and performing in the downtown troupe Black Lips. When stylist/designer Patricia Field was scouting for talent for HBO's Sex and the City, she brought Kabuki onto the show to established the make-up looks for Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

After seasons 1 and 2 on Sex, He went on to work as a make-up artist for various celebrities and in feature films including Party Monster, Palindromes, Heights, Duane Hopwood, and Strangers with Candy. Kabuki has worked with many of today's leading photographers (Bruce Weber, Peter Lindbergh, Raymond Meier, Karl Lagerfeld) but he is perhaps best known for his many projects with acclaimed photographer Steven Klein over the past 6 years.

Kabuki's shoots have appeared in just about all of the major fashion magazines including Italian Vogue, American Vogue, Paris Vogue, Harper's Bassar, InStyle, Numero, and Elle. In 2008, Kabuki was the featured make-up artist and speaker at Estee Lauder's Global Make-up Artist Conference in New York. In 2009, he presented his masterclass in New York, Los Angeles, Madrid, Berlin, and London for MAC.

Kabuki designed the make-up and various masks for the Random Dance production of DYAD 2009, premiering at Sadler's Wells. The production was televised by the BBC and is set for a DVD release. Kabuki has designed the make-up for a number of runway shows including Zac Posen, Diesel, L.A.M.B., Jason Wu, Boudica, Miss Sixty, Baby Phat, Manish Arora, and Doo.Ri. His fabric, eyepiece, and mask designs have been seen on the runways as well. His drawings have appeared in various galleries, magazines and books.

Kabuki divides his time between New York City and Saugerties in upstate New York.
