"He is a landscape photograoher based in London, originally from Lagos, Nigeria in 1963.
His first book, 'For Most Of It-I Have No Words: Genocide, Landscape, Memory' about the places where there have been genocides, was published in 1998.
His most recent book is 'Bleed' ( June 2005) which deals with the 'secondary mass grves' of the Bosnian Conflict.
The pictures in 'Afganistan: chronotopia' were made in December 2001 and May 2002 and won the European Publisher's Awards for Photography in 2002.
In 2003 Simon Norfork won the Oliver Rebbot Award and was short-listed for the Citibank Prize. In 2004 he received a prestigious International Centre of Photography Infinity Award, and the royal Photographic Societie's Terence Donovan Award. In 2005 he received the Association of Photographer's Bursary Award, and was nominated for an Arles Outreach Award. "
