Monthly Management Meeting for May 1999 was held on May 1st in Meeting Room 101, the chair person, Takahashi, called the meeting to order. Those present were the following. (The name is omitted)
1. Minutes of the Last Meeting: The minutes of last meeting held on April 1st were read and confirmed.
2. New office Computers: George Kato reported that the new office computers whose purchase was approved at the last meeting, would arrived on May 10, and that instruction seminar would be given during the week on 10 to 15 in Meeting Room 105.
3. Extension of summer Holidays: The president moved that the summer holidays for company employees to extend to ten days from the current seven days. After some discussion, it was decided that each division manager consider the feasibility of the proposal and that a final decision be made at the next management meeting.
4. Budgetary Control: Mary Lee presented the motion to divide the business activity into classes by cost for more efficiency cost center. Taro Yamada second the motion and elaborated on the advantages of the “cost center” proposal. The president instructed Mary Lee to provide all division managers with more detailed explanation instruction of the proposal in writing by the next management meeting for further discussion.
5. The next management Meeting: The next Monthly Management Meeting is to be held on June 1st at 9:30 a.m. in Meeting Room 101.
